The Science Behind Mind-Body Practices
At Zenden, our approach is guided by both research and lived experience. Over the past decades, scientific studies have consistently shown the profound impact of meditation, energy healing, and mind-body practices - not only on adults but also on children.
Meditation and Emotional Well-Being
Meditation has been shown to support emotional regulation, improve focus, and reduce stress. For children, the benefits are especially clear. Dr. Joe Dispenza’s study “Let’s Keep Calm and Breathe” conducted in Australia with over 800 children aged 4–11 found that just five minutes of daily meditation could:
Significantly improve self-regulation in younger children
Increase happiness and school performance
Enhance emotional awareness in older children
Reduce emotional and behavioral difficulties
Similarly, systematic reviews by Barranco-Ruiz et al. (2019) highlight how mind-body practices such as yoga and meditation can improve focus, reduce hyperactivity, and enhance behavioral regulation in children with ADHD.
Energy Healing and Theta Work
Theta Healing and other energy-based approaches work with the mind-body connection, helping to shift subconscious beliefs and energy patterns that influence behavior and emotions. Research shows that accessing the theta brainwave state can facilitate profound mental and emotional shifts. Valentine et al. (2019) found that approaches including hypnosis and brainwave techniques could reduce anxiety by up to 79%, highlighting the power of working with the subconscious mind to support emotional growth.
Supporting Independent Mental Wellness
Research by Breznoscakova confirms that self-induced relaxation techniques, such as autogenic training, are effective in reducing anxiety. By teaching children how to reach a relaxed state independently, these practices empower them to regulate their own emotions and take ownership of their mental health.
Our Holistic Approach
The Zenden Method integrates these evidence-based techniques into a practical framework for families. Children, supported by aware and present caregivers, learn to:
Believe in themselves
Recognise and embrace their talents
Accept and love who they are
Feel safe, seen, and supported
By combining meditation, energy healing, and sustainable mental wellness practices, children develop confidence and resilience - while parents learn to model emotional regulation and create the safe, nurturing environment essential for their child’s growth.
